Setting Up Your First AI Agent
In this guide, you'll learn how to create and deploy your first AI receptionist agent in less than 10 minutes.
Step 1: Complete Your Business Profile
Navigate to Dashboard → Business Info and fill in:
- Business name and industry
- Phone number and operating hours
- Core services (3 main offerings)
- Business description
💡 Tip: Be specific about your services. The more detail you provide, the better your AI agent performs.
Step 2: Select an Industry Template
Choose from pre-built templates tailored to your industry (Healthcare, Real Estate, Home Services, etc.). Templates include:
- Pre-written system prompts
- Industry-specific knowledge
- Recommended voice and tone
Step 3: Customize Your Agent
Personalize the agent by setting:
- Voice: Choose from 20+ voices in multiple languages
- Tone: Professional, friendly, urgent, or compassionate
- Transfer number: Where should calls be transferred if needed?
- Greeting: Custom welcome message
Step 4: Test Your Agent
Before going live, test your agent by:
- Click "Test Agent" in the dashboard
- Make a test call from your phone
- Review the call transcript
- Verify lead data extraction worked correctly
✓ Success: Your agent should answer with your greeting and ask qualifying questions naturally.
Step 5: Deploy to Production
Once satisfied with testing, click "Deploy" to make your agent live. It's now answering real calls 24/7.
Production Readiness Checklist
Before directing normal customer traffic to the agent, confirm the greeting names the correct business, required contact fields are collected, transfer rules reach the intended person, and any appointment workflow uses the correct business hours and timezone. Place at least one complete inbound test call from a different phone and verify the resulting call log.
What to Review During the First Week
Read several completed transcripts every day at first. Watch for repeated caller confusion, skipped intake questions, transfers that occur too early, and answers that rely on information you did not provide. Make one bounded change at a time and re-test it before editing anything else.
